Shattered Heart by Dorothy F. Shaw

♥Available Now

A crush is just a fantasy. The real thing packs some serious heat.

When Cynthia Donnelly lays eyes on her high school crush at her brother’s wedding rehearsal, she regrets her self-imposed, one-year moratorium on dating. If possible, he’s even hotter now than when they were teens.

Back in school, Shane made a point to ignore his best friend’s cute, sassy little sister. Now that she’s grown into an incredibly sexy woman full of Irish spunk, resisting her is out of the question. Besides, in his book, all “hands-off” rules have expired.

One sizzling night together should have been enough. Instead, the heat rises, tempting Cyn to take a chance on a long-distance relationship and making Shane consider pulling up stakes and moving back to L.A.

Cyn’s recently dumped ex, however, has other ideas. His quest to get her back escalates into violence, shattering Cyn’s faith in herself, and in anyone else of the male persuasion, and leaving Shane with his work cut out for him to repair the damage—or lose his shot at a once-in-a-lifetime love.

Warning: This book contains a physical assault. Buckle up for a bumpy emotional journey with the characters as they fall apart and then slowly find their way to healing, and to each other. You might get angry or tearful along the way, you may even get frustrated, but as is with any good love story, it’ll be worth it in the end.

My Review

You know, I have said it once and I will say it again….
Dorothy Shaw write a damn good sex scene.

I don’t want to spoil anything, so I will try not to.

This is book Three in The Donnellys series, and it is about one of the girls, Cyn….

Her man in this book, Shane…..holy hotness….I really just have nothing else to say except damn…..

Cyn almost got on my nerves with her thinking she was not going to date for a year after a bad break up and trying to push Shane away. Dorothy warns of a domestic violence incident, which almost breaks Cyn….BUT with such a large an loving family, and Shane *swoon*….she pulls through….

In this book we get to see more Jimmy(book 2-Defensive Heart) so that makes me extremely happy….What I am hoping is that if I keep singing the praises of Jimmy because I love him THAT MUCH…maybe I can persuade the wonderful Ms. Shaw to write a novella about him and Sonja 😉

We also see Ryan and Maiya (Book 1-Unworthy Heart)get married *awwwe…makes me smile for them 🙂

I can’t wait to see what’s next :):)

About Dorothy

Dorothy F. Shaw stumbled into a career in Corporate America and has spent the last 18 years climbing the corporate ladder. A fan of journaling about her troubles, she started an online blog in 2009, and poured her emotions out for all to see.

As luck would have it, the first post came out in the form of a poem. A few authors she’d met online encouraged her to write more, and in the span of 2 years she wrote over 150 poems. The poems led to short stories, which blossomed into novels. Evident from the very beginning was her voice as an author that is real and packed with wit and sarcasm. Her stories will always include complex, broken people trying to figure out how to start and keep a relationship as well as lots of hot, steamy sex. As Dorothy sees it, the journey is the best part.

When she’s not writing, she’s a mother, and a friend to many. She truly lives and loves in technicolor!
