“Stay in the truck. I’ll run in and grab your things,” he said, as he pulled into his driveway.

“Aren’t you going to invite me in for coffee?”

“No.” Fortunately, she didn’t know how much he wanted to invite her in. He had two nights and one day to get through. He’d protect her and send her away again. At the very least, she deserved that much.

“We could skip the coffee part.” She batted her eyelashes and laughed.

The laugh sucker-punched him. “I’m not going to make a move on you.”

Tomorrow, they’d be in-laws of a sort. He wouldn’t do anything to upset his sister on her wedding day. Having Zane beat the hell out of him for the things he’d do with Nicole if she walked inside his house again would definitely upset Julianne.

“Lucky for you, I’m looking forward to being the one who initiates all the moves.” She trailed her fingernails along his arm.

“I’m trying to make up for the past, not repeat it. Stay here.” He ran into the house and closed himself inside. Leaning against the door, he sucked in a deep breath. He never thought twice about doing the right thing on a daily basis, but, with Nicole, it took all his willpower.

Once calmness and control settled over him, he returned to the truck and stowed her luggage. As he resettled behind the wheel, she adjusted something on the rearview mirror.

“What are you doing?” he asked.

“Giving you a souvenir.” She shot him a smug look.

The glow of the outside lights revealed a silhouette of pale lacy fabric hanging from the mirror. He nearly choked on his tongue. “You took off your panties?”

Blurb: A broken-down car destroys Nicole DeMonde’s plan to be cool and self-sufficient when she returns to her hometown for her brother’s wedding. The cop who comes to her rescue is none other than local hottie Wyatt Truman, who slept with her then dumped her when they were teens. She has no choice but to accept his help. However, she knows better than to trust him with her heart twice.

Wyatt is determined to earn Nicole’s forgiveness and make amends for his callous past. Once he lays eyes on her, he can’t help wanting more than forgiveness. In fact, his intentions are starting to bear a suspicious resemblance to the forever variety.

If she can’t avoid Wyatt, a one-night stand might be just the thing Nicole needs to work him out of her system. Or will her recovery plan destroy her heart once and for all?

Well.. let me start this review by saying that maybe if the first book in this series hadnt been so good I wouldnt have been so meh about this book?  Hopefully that will ease the blow of the so-so review im about to give it.

Bad Boys Guilt is the second in the series of 4 novellas that I have been dying to read by Sara Daniel.  The first one (Bad Boys Gift) was so good that now I fear the rest are just going to pale in comparison.

Wyatt, the main character in this book, was a total and complete arse in book one.  He takes Nicoles virginity and then dumps her as a way to get back at Zane for dating his sister.  Flash forward a few years, Zane and Julianne (the sister) are now getting married and Wyatt and Nicole are forced to be together to attend the wedding.  Wyatt would like to apologize for being an arse, but Nicole wont let him.  She wont let him.  SHE WONT LET HIM.  SHE. WONT. LET. HIM.  Dear Lord, I get it.  You are mad, humiliated, hurt beyond all reason…. either gtf over it or leave for pete’s sake!!  Quit with the insane back and forths!  And stop torturing your poor dad and his girlfriend’s family.  UGH Nicole!  I wanted to shake my kindle and throw it down.  That woman infuriated me.

But I digress… For as much as I didnt like the direction the story took, I knew I needed to look at it as a reviewer.  Logistically.  What would readers think?  The characters were developed well, even if a bit wishy washy (yeah, im looking at you Nicole).  The story was short, novella length, to the point and had a HEA – which I always appreciate.  Editing was spot on, I noticed no issues at all with editing.

I give Bad Boys Guilt 3.5*** WickedGoodStars and have super high hopes for the third installment which im diving into today!
