After a decade of serving in the Army, everyone still expects me to be Dominic ‘Nicky’ Costigan—the skirt-chasing player. They don’t know I’ve been spending my days trying to figure out my post-military life. Including how to pick up guys.
When I meet Luke on a hookup app, he makes it clear it’s for one-night only. That’s fine with me, because I’m down to see what this silver fox can do. But after I arrive at his doorstep, it doesn’t take long to realize we have serious chemistry, and we end up meeting again.
He’s got more walls around his heart than a military base, but I think he’s as addicted to me as I am to him. He can’t resist me for long. I mean, who can? Except Luke’s rules exist for a reason, and when I test his limits, things get complicated. Maybe too complicated.
I wasnt sure it was possible but I loved Luke and Dominic in Fast Connection even more than I loved Strong Signal.. and thats a whole lot of love right there. *swoony sigh*
Characters – Dominic. My heart really went out to Dominic in that he was trying his best to break out of the mold that not only his family but his entire neighborhood had set out for him as ‘Nicky’ – the skirt chasing punk kid from the deli who was just out for a good time and nothing more. This version of Dominic was a military veteran and far from a skirt chaser. And then there was Luke. Honestly I had a little trouble with Luke at the beginning. Luke was a single dad who didnt try to hide the fact that he was gay but IMO he almost came across as being mean to Dominic. I get the fact that he was NOT interested in a relationship. Except that he was…. anyway, I realize im venturing dangerously close to spoiler territory so I will stop. I ended up loving both characters immensely so *happy sighs*. The secondary characters added a great deal of depth to the story too, especially Dominic’s sister and Luke’s ex wife and son.
Story – I have yet to figure out which author writes which character and honestly it doesnt matter much to me other than for curiosity’s sake. They were both extremely well written and very complex characters. I was sucked into the story from the very beginning and found it close to impossible to put down. I felt for both of the men who were each struggling in their own ways. The story line had such a great flow to it that I was at the end before I realized how much time had passed. I would love to see Megan and Santino continue with these stories because they are quickly becoming my obsession.
5***** WickedGoodStars all the way for Fast Connection!
ABOUT THE AUTHORS:
Santino Hassell was raised by a conservative family, but he was anything but traditional. He grew up to be a smart-mouthed, school cutting grunge kid, then a transient twenty-something, and eventually transformed into an unlikely romance author.
Santino writes queer romance that is heavily influenced by the gritty, urban landscape of New York City, his belief that human relationships are complex and flawed, and his own life experiences.

Standalone books by Santino Hassell:
Megan Erickson is a USA Today bestselling author of romance that sizzles. Her books have a touch of nerd, a dash of humor, and always have a happily ever after. A former journalist, she switched to fiction when she decided she likes writing her own endings better.
She lives in Pennsylvania with her very own nerdy husband and two kids. Although rather fun-sized, she’s been told she has a full-sized personality. When Megan isn’t writing, she’s either lounging with her two cats named after John Hughes characters or… thinking about writing.
