*Review* Something So Right by Natasha Madison

The moment everything changed didn’t happen in that cliché rockets-red-glare kind of way, it happened in the form of a waking nightmare. I caught my husband, my high-school sweetheart, the father of my children, balls deep in a sordid affair.

That was when I gave up on men and love.

I didn’t count on the NHL’s golden boy, the beautiful, arrogant Cooper Stone turning my life and my hockey rink upside down.

My kids are why I wake up in the morning.

Hockey is what Cooper breathes for.

We’re from different worlds and places in our lives but when our hearts collided something so wrong and different turned into something so right.

My Review

I love all things hockey. So when I saw a facebook post about a brand new author who had written a hockey book, of course I was interested.

Natasha Madison is a first time author…this is her debut novel and I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What I liked about this book

The premise of the story. First and formost, it’s a sports romance which is one of my favorite troupes. The main character’s in this book are Parker, a 34-35 year old divorcee with two kids. She owns a rink in her small town where she rehab’s hockey player’s. Cooper Stone is a 30 year old, famous hockey player who is in need of her services. Parker has been out of the dating field for 2 years after she walked in on her husband-her high school sweetheart, screwing his “assistant”.
Chemistry…..it can definitely be said that there was some between these characters. I imagine Cooper as probably just a hot as hell man whose hard to resist and eager to please.
Friendship-I loved the friendship Parker had with her BFF Meghan
Lastly, Parker liked to use the word Fuck. That also happens to be my favorite word lol.

What I maybe didn’t like or would possibly change

This book is told primarily from Parker’s POV. If I am being honest….from her POV, I was not like…a huge fan of Cooper. Not that he was a bad guy, but I felt with all the ‘babe this babe that’ that he just kind of got on my nerves. However, when we got the little glimpses into him from his POV, that was his redemption for me. So, with that being said….I would have loved to have had MORE POV from him. But it was almost at chapter 20 ish before we got anything from him. The only other thing that I would have to say got a little tedious….was all the sex ***hides face in shame*** I know, I know….it’s what we expect in a romance book, and I love a good sex scene….buuuutttt….I don’t know….at some point…I checked out of the sex scenes and just wanted to get on with the story.

So overall, I found this book to be enjoyable. It flowed fairly well however, there were some minor spelling/grammatical errors. But with my copy being an ARC, that’s not necessary unexpected.

I can’t wait to see what Natasha Madison does next 🙂

About The Author

When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…
