There’s nothing Truman Gritt won’t do to protect his family–Including spending years in jail for a crime he didn’t commit. When he’s finally released, the life he knew is turned upside down by his mother’s overdose, and Truman steps in to raise the children she’s left behind. Truman’s hard, he’s secretive, and he’s trying to save a brother who’s even more broken than he is. He’s never needed help in his life, and when beautiful Gemma Wright tries to step in, he’s less than accepting. *AMBER’S REVIEW*

Truman Gritt – *le sigh*

I just want to start off by thanking Melissa Foster for writing these guys (Tristan and now Truman) that I instantly fall in love with. I mean… WHOA. I wasn’t sure she could top Tristan (no pun intended there) but Tru… *swoon*.

What can I say without spoiling the entire book? Truman ‘Tru’ is a convicted killer. Hes just released from prison and is now in charge of not only one but two small children. He is also all tattooed up. (Are you dying yet?) Gemma is a well to do, spoiled, somewhat elitist shop owner who should, in theory, hit it off with Tru about as well as oil mixes with water. However, everyone knows that when you drop oil in water and light hits it – you get beautiful rainbows. And that is exactly what Melissa Foster has done with these two characters – she took two things that had absolutely no business being together and created a beautiful rainbow of a story that touches on a lot of dark elements – infertility, addiction, imprisonment, real life issues that sucked me in as a reader and had me burning through the pages wanting more, more, more.

The secondary cast was amazing as well. I cant wait to see what spins out for them in the future. They were inter woven throughout the story just enough so that they didnt overshadow the main characters but I got a good feel for them and was left attached to several enough that I would love to see them as main characters in their own stories.
