My rating: 4 of 5 stars
In a Ranger’s Arms is the first in a brand new series (The Men of At Ease Ranch) by new-to-me author Donna Michaels and WOW, was I impressed! For Entangled, I normally dont stray too far from the Brazen/Scorched lines but after reading the blurb I was hooked and wanted to see what this new series was going to be all about.
Jovy comes to town and opens a vegan, gluten-free restaurant. She only has four short weeks to prove to her grandfather that she is capable of turning a larger profit than her cousin (competing elsewhere) so she can win the company business when grandpa retires.
Stone is a retired Army Ranger who, along with his brother and friends, have started a business where they help veterans transition back into civilian life. They are building At Ease Ranch and its taking all of Stone’s time, money and energy to do so. Stone is Jovy’s landlord at her restaurant and it doesnt take very long for them to become overwhelmed with each other (woohoo!) and the sparks start flying!
Donna Michaels has written a lovely cast of characters – both the main (Stone and Jovy) as well as the supporting cast, including Lula Belle, who was quite a spectacle. LMAO.
I really thought Stone was a solid lead to start off this series. He had a strong personality that showed through in the flow of the story and was the man in charge of the ranch so he was the perfect fit for the new beginning.
I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the books and much more from Donna Michaels.
