From New York Times bestselling author, J. Daniels, comes a sexy new STANDALONE novel.
Riley Tennyson has made a huge mistake.
At least, that’s what she keeps telling herself.
Showing up to her brother’s wedding pissed off and newly single, Riley seeks comfort in solitude and an open bar, until the gorgeous and irresistibly charming CJ Tully makes her a better offer―a wild night with the master of smooth-talking where nothing is off limits.
Riley does what any single woman would do, and a connection is made. One neither one of them can ignore. But when she comes home to the boyfriend she no longer thought she had, Riley buries her secret and begs CJ to do the same.
Forget about each other. It was a mistake. That’s all it was… right?
Desires are hidden. Distance is kept. Until one night CJ makes the ultimate sacrifice, and Riley can no longer avoid the man she can’t stop thinking about.
Not with him sleeping down the hall…
CJ… FINALLY! *heart eyes*
What I Need ended up certainly being just that – what I needed. CJ Tully was one hot hunk of man meat who loved his Riley and had no problems letting the world know. Just as soon as Riley would give him the ok, that is.
Now, as far as the review goes, I’m going to have to break this book down into two very distinct sections as I really feel the need to explain why on earth I didn’t give such a great book a 5 star rating.
The first…..probably 18%-20% of the story was just not good for me. I had trouble with Riley’s character, I had trouble with the way CJ spoke and the way his speech was written out. Honestly, it was just ok. I was disappointed.
But then it took off. And oh my…..did it ever TAKE. OFF.
I’m not really sure what or when the switch tripped either but when it did, it was pure J. Daniels Bama Boys goodness all the way, baby. OH YEAH! Now, for me.. Ben Kelly has always been “the one”. I love the others, but no one could ever compete with Ben.
CJ……well, toward the end of this story, was getting close to Ben. I never, ever saw that coming. J. Daniels rocked CJ and Riley and I found it nearly impossible to put down. I’m looking sooo forward to Jake!
4 WickedGoodStars for What I Need – Highly recommend not only this book but the entire series!
