How far will Trystan go to win the heart of the man he loves? All the way.
Trystan Matherly is conceited, arrogant, and rich. He has plenty of money, athletic ability, and gorgeous looks to keep the men forming a long line just to be with him. Choosing his next lover has been as simple as down-selecting to the hottest candidate.
With his sad eyes, full lips, and perfectly sculpted swimmer’s body, Dakota is just the kind of lover Trystan wants. After only one look, he knows he has to have him. Too bad Dakota seems to be totally oblivious to all his charms.
Dakota Jacobson is lonely, tired, and depressed. He’s at Alabama Temple to complete his degree, not to put up with idiots. He works diligently to be as invisible as possible. He doesn’t need friends and he sure doesn’t need lovers…especially not football titans that think they rule the world. Nope; been there, done that.
With his sexy eyes, arrogant smirk, and muscled physique, Trystan is just the kind of lover Dakota never intends to have…again. Too bad Trystan refuses to allow him to be invisible.
You get a brief glance at Dakota at the end of Touchdown (a must read if you have yet to read it). And you get a lot of Tank aka Trystan in that book too. And you can’t help it fall in love with Tank, and his endearing personality.
Tank loves his friends, he’s fiercely loyal, and says what is on his mind. Literally, I don’t thin he has a filter. He is used to getting what he wants, when he wants it and how he wants it. So when he see’s Dakota, he assumes it will be easy peasy like always.
But he’s never met a man quite like Dakota. But, no matter how attractive Tank may be, Dakota wants no part of him at first, and this is solely based on his past. He’s been hurt, bad. He views Trystan as the same type of man who has hurt him before, and he does not want to go through that again. He does not easily trust, but Trystan set’s our on a mission to gain his trust and earn his love, the only way he knows how. By basically forcing himself on the kid (not in a bad way, but in the this is Tank, he has no idea how to date someone kind of way so he is just winging it way) He basically wines and dines him, wears him down, and honestly, he just wants to protect the kid, love the kid, and make him happy.
I don’t want to spoil anything, but I will say this. I almost died near the end of this story. Honestly, I thought I was going to have to hurt someone my heart ached so much. But the ending was so worth it!
This book you guys. Ugh. I loved it SO MUCH. Like, the words that I have said do not adequately describe all the feels this one gave me. T.S. McKinney has made me love her character’s so effortlessly that I just want to hug her neck and send her a bottle of wine for giving me these stories that I have enjoyed so much!!!
When not working, reading, or writing, she loves to spend time with my family and forcing them (because they don’t really have another choice) to allow me to redecorate their houses…and listen to my naughty…sometimes sadistic stories.
