**AMBER’S REVIEW**

These 8 little novellas are 8 wicked little fairy tales re-written by some of the naughtiest writers in the game right now.  Bundle them all together and you have got one GREAT anthology.  (not sure whose idea this was but it was brilliant!)

Music Box Girl (12 Dancing Princesses) by Sierra Simone – my opinion, you can NEVER go wrong reading SS.  She can write dirty like no other and im glad the book started with her story.  However, that being said… this story was a bit too taboo and a little over the top, even for my tastes.  *throws out my daughter’s old ballet shoes*

Bedtime Story (Sleeping Beauty) by Skye Warren – Sleeping Beauty was my favorite fairy tale as a child and to see it taken over by SW as a naughty novella – eek!!  It was written with the perfect amount of modern day angst, heart felt drama and the ever important HEA.  (YEA!!)

Ripples (Prince and The Pauper) by Aleatha Romig – this was a little darker and more dramatic than what I was expecting but it was nonetheless a good story.  AR wasnt afraid to throw down the grit and show us that all fairy tales are not made up of glitter and rainbows.

Royal Mattress (Princess and The Pea) by Nicola Rendell – my favorite novella of the group.  Nicola Rendell hit the bullseye with this naughty number.  Perfectly written story and hilarious to boot.  Normally with an extra main character it takes away from the story somewhat – but not Grandma… LOVED IT!!

In A Stranger’s Bed (Goldilocks) by Sophie Jordan – woohoo!  This little book is DIR-TY.  And I loved it!  The childhood classic of Goldilocks and The Three Bears will never be the same in my eyes.  And growling will forever be sexy…. *wink*

Broken Harp (Jack and The Beanstalk) by Nora Flite –  I dont think I have ever read anything by NF before so this was my first introduction to this author.  Broken Harp was a very good story and honestly I would like to see it made into a longer book as I really thought it had great potential as a full length novel.

Red Hot Pursuit (Little Red Riding Hood) by AL Jackson – another amazing story by AL Jackson.  I would have to say next to Royal Mattress, this was my second favorite.  Great chemistry between the main characters and it didnt have the novella “feel” of being rushed.

Knot (Rapunzel) by Lili St. Germain – Rapunzel is my daughter’s favorite fairy tale and its a dark one, even the cartoon movie that was made for children.  LSG did an AMAZING job bringing Rapunzel to life in this super dark and dramatic story of Seraphina and her captor.  Knot was the last story in the book and what a way to end it!  Glued to every page.

So glad I had the opportunity to read these books.  Its a great anthology and I would definitely recommend it to lovers of novellas and certainly to lovers of fairy tales, like myself.
